Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is unlike the kind of massage we think of, here in the West. Don't get me wrong, I love a good sports massage or deep tissue massage, but Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) is wonderful in a different way. In TYM, the practitioner focuses on the energy lines (sen lines) of the client and works on blockages and movement of that energy. TYM involves pressing and pulling and twisting and movement of the body to encourage this energy flow.

TYM is done on a mat on the floor. A lot of space is needed for this bodywork! The client is completely clothed and does not need to have any prior knowledge or understanding of TYM or yoga.

The intention of a Thai Yoga Massage is for relaxation, of course, but also to encourage and assist the healing of the mind/body. Although TYM is a form of healing, it may not be for everyone. People with certain chronic conditions, diseases, and injuries should avoid this. If you aren't sure, ask your doctor.

  • 60 minutes: $60*
  • 90 minutes: $90
  • 120 minutes: $120

*Everyone is busy and money conscious, however, I have found through my own experience of giving and receiving TYM that 1 hour is quick and not enough time to relax and work on the parts that need it. I do recommend more than an hour if your schedule and wallet can afford it. Also, don't worry about me. I protect myself throughout, so after a 2 hour session, I am not fatigued.

  • No food 1 hour before
  • Wear comfortable clothing with a soft waist band. Remove belts. Wear socks if you'd like!
  • Remove bracelets and watch.
  • This is a safe space. Thai Yoga Massage involves touching and energy transfer. Any inappropriate behavior will result in termination of client relationship.
  • Body work impacts your internal organs so don't be surprised at any movement and noises that may arise. It is natural!
  • If it hurts, say something.

Burgundie is not a massage therapist.

Use your best judgement. I live within walking distance of the studio as do many of our students. If it's not safe to drive, don't drive. I will post on the Yoga Happiness Facebook and Instagram pages if classes are cancelled.

Starting in January, all yoga classes taught by Burg and Kelly will be donation based! $5 minimum is suggested. Visit the Services and Pricing tab for details on how to donate.
