There may be times when you're the ONLY student! That's great! A private!

Just know, we LOVE it when that happens, so don't feel bad. Feel lucky!

AM Yoga

Class focus will adjust based on the energy of the morning and the students in class. We'll practice breathing exercises, movement, meditation and mindfulness to keep the day going in a positive direction.

Zoom option available! This class is even great for those attending in different time zones! Maybe this is a lunch class for you!

Meditation Learner Series

The Learner Series is a 6-week session (so, 6 classes) with a workshop feel and focus. We deep dive into the series topic and learn different styles or aspects over the course of the 6-weeks. Classes are stand-alone, but they do build on one another. You don't have to come to all 6 classes, but it is recommended.

Each week in the Meditation Learner Series we'll practice a different style of meditation and learn how so many activities, moments, actions, non-actions can be considered "meditation".

We'll practice Metta, TongLen, circular OMs, the Gayatri Mantra, and more.

This is geared towards all levels of meditators, even if you've never tried meditation! Meditation helps reduce stress and anxiety (and thereby boosts your immune system), increases focus, improves mental clarity, boosts creativity... and so much more.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a style that was created in the 1980's to help students of the martial arts become more flexible. That's an oversimplification of the story, but that's the idea.

Yin is the feminine of yang. Yin is cool, the moon, compassionate. Yang is masculine, heat, the sun, competitive.

In Yin yoga, we are focused on increasing range of motion (ROM) in the joints which requires more time than is usually given when working on stretching muscles. In Yin, we typically hold a pose for 5 minutes. Students use props to encourage their brain and muscles to relax and let go. Let it be heard, yin can be uncomfortable. We don't want it to be painful or injurious, but sitting still if you have tight hips can be hard!

Because we're holding poses for 5 minutes, there are two styles taught here:

  • Meditative - this class has gentle singing bowl music. We practice stilling our minds and breathing deeply.

  • With Trivia - During this version, the teacher (Burg) reads trivia questions and expects students to participate. This helps keep your mind off the pose and if you're talking you're breathing. It's a fun class and a way to connect with other students!

NOTE: If you're doing this class over Zoom, make sure you have LOTS of pillows and/or yoga props like bolsters, blocks, and straps.

Anatomy & Asana Learner Series

The Learner Series is a 6-week session (so, 6 classes) with a workshop feel and focus. We deep dive into the series topic and learn different styles or aspects over the course of the 6-weeks. Classes are stand-alone, but they do build on one another. You don't have to come to all 6 classes, but it is recommended.

Each week in the Anatomy & Asana Learner Series we'll discuss different poses (asana) and the anatomy related. During these classes, the hope is that students will gain a deeper understanding of how poses might feel in their body and ways to adjust the pose to fit their bodies!

Topics may include: twists, backbends/chest openers, hip stuff, balancing poses, and more!

More Classes Coming Soon...

Burg likes to build the schedule 3 months at a time. The schedule right now (October through December 2021) will remain as is. Somewhere around mid to late November, the schedule for January through March will get put together. Burg LOVES input from students on what they like or don't like. The schedule will likely change some based on season, student attendance, etc.

Class FAQs

How much are classes?      In-studio classes are $20.  Zoom classes are between $5-10.   When paying for your class on Vagaro, you can buy a 10-Class Pass.  Workshops and Special series prices may vary.

How many people are in class? The studio is small. A big class is 7 students with 1 teacher.

How does the live-stream class work? When you register for the class, it asks "Where would you like to take this class?" You can select "At Business" or "Live Stream". Vagaro will send you an email with the Zoom link for the class if you're doing it via Live Stream. Click the link and hop into the class when it's time!

When should I show up for class? Burg loves students to show up 10 minutes early. Find a spot, get settled, maybe chat a bit. Class starts pretty close to on-time. If you're late (either in-person or via Zoom), just come in quietly and don't apologize. Apologies are a disruption.

Can I drop-in to classes?     If "Drop-in" means register for individual classes, then yes.     Drop-In does not mean "just show up".      You must register ahead of time (even if it's 10 minutes ahead of time) because class sizes are so small.

What if I can't make it to class after I've signed up? Please cancel yourself off the schedule.  Classes are small so that releases your space to someone else.

I'm a beginner... Great! Wear comfortable clothes. Watch the etiquette video on the Home page. Be prepared to be barefoot. If you don't have a mat, borrow one of ours. Have more questions, email Burg! Burg@YogaHappiness.US
